I was just coming on to ask the same thing! I was going to make lasagna one night this week, but wasn't sure about the tomato sauce.

Whenever you start it watch the bum. Em had her first bit of diaper rash when I started tomato sauce because it is so acidic.

My LO is 9 months; we started with regular tomatoes one week, then toast dipped in tomato or spaghetti sauce the next and then the following week he had his first spaghetti. He did great, a little red on the bum for a day but I am guessing that is from the acid.

You are supposed to wait until the year point because of the acidity.

Sauces don't bother Nora, but fresh tomatoes do. It just makes her face red where it touched her skin. I've never noticed a diaper rash from it, but definitely noticed her face so I don't give her fresh tomatoes much. Just try a taste every once in a while. She loves tomato sauces, though. I don't give her much, just enough to make the noodles red.

Thanks ladies. I think I'll hold off on them a while longer at least.
