    Default Need Help Asap...PAIN PAIN

Ok, so this just started today... I have a sharp pain that is right wear the breast and areola meet. Its feels awful!!! (I pray this isn't thrush). it feels like a burning sensation. I need it to go away NOW. Lo is sleep, but he wil need to nurse soon and I can't nurse on that side like that... It comes and goes like contractions...

I don't know. Burning always makes me think thrush but if it is near your areola it could be a latch that is a little off. Is it red? Cracked? When does it hurt? My thrush pain was always deep in the breast with my nipples only itching - so it doesn't sound like how my thrush pain felt.

Ice is good for all kinds of pain.

right now its gone. But it has been coming off and on since this morning. It's only on the bottom. I dunno... this is the same breast I had a crack on, but it's not near the nipple, it's closer to where the areola stops and breast starts. when it starts back I will try the ice

do you think it could be a clogged duct? i've had a few and they hurt horribly... it kills to nurse on the side its on and i can hardly stand to touch it. if its really bad i take one of the pain pills i had from the hospital. otherwise a warm shower and massaging the spot that hurts helps a lot. mine usually last a day or two. hth

I dont think I have ducts way back there..... you know where the areola starts to lighten, and the rest of your boob starts...

Your ducts go a whole lot further than that! The can go upwards toward the armpit. You can pm me if you want. Sounds like a Vasospasm.

You don't have to turn colors. It can be internal.

You are going to hate my comment - but it is best to keep bfing on the sore side...

Believe me, I understand - I've had mastitis, thrush, bad latch sore nipples...and the best thing is to keep feeding from that side. It hurts, but WILL GET BETTER!!!

Thanks everyone for you comments. I did continue to nurse on that side... the pain is gone for now, but it still feels irritated....
