    Default Shaking breast milk why bad

    I have heard it is bad to shake refridgerated breast milk. I always do this as it sticks to the side and I want to keep every drop I get. Then I combine the new pumped milk with the old. Why is it bad to shake it? Can it make the baby sick?

    It is recommended that you gently swirl instead of shake. It doesn't make baby sick it just damages some of the sensitive good components of the milk.

    I just responded to your other post about thrush/mastitis. Pumping can contribute to oversupply whhich can lead to clogged ducts/mastitis! You should try to 'empty' your breasts.

    oh wow...I do this too on the rare occasions that LO gets a bottle!
