If you are nursing on demand there is no reason to quantify the amount of milk. The baby will take as much as it needs. If the baby needs more you will notice an increase in feedings probably the result of a growth spurt. Your body will make more as the baby asks and needs more. Why do you ask?

If it is absolutely necessary that you know how many ounces the baby gets in a feeding, you could talk to your doctor about a precision scale to weigh baby before and after nursing. But the best way to judge if enough is going in is by how much is coming out. Are you counting wet and pooey diapers?
