    Question EBM-what's what?

I'm curious as to what is what when EBM separates.

I understand that it is normal for it to separate, that isn't my concern, I'm just curious about what the layers are. There is a thick white layer on the top and a smoky/clear layer on the bottom.

    TIA
    Deb

The top layer is hindmilk (if you were a cow, it would be called cream, or butter fat). The thinner layer is foremilk (if you were a cow, that would be the skim milk).

    HTH!
