Default How long should I let him sleep?

My son is 71/2 weeks old. He sleeps between 5-6 hours during the night, but he will sometimes also take a 3-4 hour nap in the early afternoon. I was always told to not let him go more than 2-3 hours during the day without nursing. This puts him closer to 5 hours without nursing. Should I wake him up or let him sleep? Also, if I let him go that long without nursing will my milk supply dry up? I'm sorry if these are silly questions but I just want to make sure I'm doing whats best for my baby!

As long as your LO is having enough wet and dirty diapers each day, then it is fine to let them sleep. Enjoy it while it lasts! The reason wet diapers are important is to check that your LO is hydrated enough, and is not lethargic from lack of nourishment. If he's having 4-6 wet diapers (wet is defined as about 6 Tbsp of pee - you can test this by putting 6 Tbsp of water in a diaper to feel how heavy a wet diaper should be to count it as 1 - KWIM), then let him sleep away!
