I think I've figured out why my dd freaks out at the breast. After reading many posts and articles, I think it's OALD. I feel let down so strong, it hurts. My question is, what is feeding from the top? I have tried the side laying position, the foot ball position, and the normal position. I am looking for other ways so my dd and I can both be comfortable.

Have you tried the "Australian Hold?" This is where you would recline in a chair or recliner and lay the baby facing you on your chest. Gravity works with you in this position and helps so that you MER doesn't not come down so quickly. Hope this helps!

I've actually been trying to figure out how to do this as well as I have OALD and an oversupply of milk. Can anyone tell me how the baby's head is positioned? I feel like the baby won't be able to breath if she is facing into my breast.
