When I had first two babies (formula babies) drs told me to feed him on a set schedule. So we did that.

As soon as I said I was bf Elijah (my now 2 mo old baby) they said to nurse on cue. The babies will get on their own schedule, but do try to schedule it somewhat. so I'm doing that.

What did I begin to notice? He is on a schedule...it just took a lil longer for him to get it.

He eats between 6-7am, 10-11 am, 2-3pm, 6-7 pm, 9-10pm....adn SOMETIMES at 3am (but almost never now).

Idk of that helps you or not though. always remember EVERY BABY IS DIFFERENT.

We pushed a schedule and it worked a little too well. I am trying to move my two from every 3 hours to every 4 during the day at the GI specialists advice (due to reflux and their age). My two are resisting since they are totally into their schedule. If they are distracted or busy they will go between 3.5 - 5 hours, but if they are bored they want to nurse at 3 hours on the dot. For me getting them on a schedule was more about getting my sanity back. We were nursing for 45-50 min every 1.5 - 2 hours at the time due to comfort nursing for reflux. You need to do what you feel is right for you and your baby. Some people do better with schedules and some do better nursing on demand.
