    Post Bloody Stool?!!!

    Hello everyone!
I started giving my 2 month old vitamins since that is what the pediatrician recommended. Yesterday I noticed that there were some red spots on her stool and it seemed to me like blood. Is that normal with the vitamins? Do I really have to give my exclusively breastfeed baby vitamins? Doesnt the breastmilk have all the nutrition the baby needs? If anyone knows the answer to this, please let me know

The blood may be from the iron in the vitamins. The iron in vitamins and infant cereal can be hard on an infant's digestive system. Here's some information on vitamins that you might find helpful.

My son had blood at around that age too. He was also on iron sup. When I went to the pediatrician, she didn't seem to think it had anything to do with that...instead she told me to cut dairy out all together, that it could have been a short term dairy allergy. I believe that's what it was, and it has since healed itself...i was in total panic when i found the blood, so erst assured there are many possibilities!!
