    Default green poop

    hi!

    Sorry to be graphic, but...

We began with the basic yellow/mustard poop and lately it's been rather green or a greenish yellow. I have heard this may be due to too much fore milk, but I am pretty conscious of using breast compression towards the end of a feed and really trying to make sure dd is getting at least some hind milk.

Can green poop just be green poop - nothing wrong at all? My dd is 3 weeks old.

    Thanks
    Lauren

Green poop in itself isn't anything to be worried about. True, it can be a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance (which doesn't hurt your baby, by the way). In order to make sure baby's getting plenty of hindmilk, one way is to continue feeding on one side until that breast is "empty". In other words, don't switch sides after some prescribed period of time. Allow your baby to finish and pull off on their own.

I'm sure someone else will chime in with more advice, but wanted to get a quick word in that it's OK to have green poop!
