    Default Foremilek/Hindmilk problem?

Some of the other posts have me concerned now about my daughter. My 5 week old has green poops most of the time. How do I tell if she is getting enough hindmilk or if this is just the normal color of her stool for whatever reason? Is duration of actively nursing a good indicator? (e.g, she may nurse for 20 minutes on first breast?)

She was born at 8 lbs, 11 ounces and is up over 10 now. Is content after each feeding, feeds every 2 to 2.5 hours but does not always take both breasts.

    THANKS!

If she's growing well and is usually contented and happy, then I don't think the green stools signify a problem. They are a helpful clue to what is going on with a baby who is unhappy or not gaining well; in and of themselves, they are not a problem that needs fixing.

Duration of nursing isn't really a useful indicator, as this doesn't tell us how much milk a baby is actually transferring into her tummy.

It sounds to me like you're doing great!
