    Default Help...up every hour!!!

    Hi there,

My daughter is 10 days old and she is up from about 8pm until about 1 a.m. just wanting to nurse! I give her both breasts for about 20 minutes each, I then change her diaper and then about 1/2 hour later she is opening her mouth for more! Is this normal?

Yes, It's normal!!!! You'll get through it. Those first 2 months are a series of intense growth spurts. My DS nursed about every hour for the first 6 wks. I know it's exhausting. Keep feeding on demand and your LO will signal your body to produce what she needs and when she needs it.

    CONGRATULATIONS on your LO!!!

I agree with the PP, the first couple of months for us were the most challenging. Breast milk is easily digested, so feeding frequently is normal. I remember sitting in a rocking chair for 4 hours straight just going back and forth from one side to the other and how exhausting that was! Hang in there mama, what helped me was set up a little "island" as Shelly calls it with snacks, reading material, plenty to drink, and phones so I could just concentrate on nursing and staring at my LO. Congrats mama!!!
