Default 2 week old crying throughout everytime I nurse?

He latches fine, but he fusses/cries for at least 5-10 minutes b/f latching (he's not trying to latch during this time) once he starts to nurse he stops nursing every few seconds - cries - starts again- cries etc. he only nurses for 5 or so minutes on each side but seems to be getting enough since he's peeing and pooping at every diaper change. Any advice?

Default 2 week old only nurses about 5 minutes per side?

My first did this too, but i think i was able to keep him on a few minutes longer. Is there anything to worry about as long as he's gaining weight and having wet/poop diapers? Concerned he's not getting any hindmilk?

Default If baby is only feeding for 5 or so minutes on each breast - does that mean he's not

    getting any hindmilk?

Depends on how old your baby is. An older baby is able to drain the breast pretty darn fast!

Does your baby ever gasp or cough when nursing? Can you see a flow of milk after your baby pops off?

Check kellymom's site to see if you might have an Over Active Let Down. Look up reflux too. I'm sure everything is fine!

We've been nursing for 16 mos. and she's never stayed on longer than 10 min. She was usually done in 5 min. in those early months and I did always have a very strong and fast flow.

You already know the signs, as long as you see it coming out, you know enough is going in! Keep up the good work!

    I'm so sorry--how frustrating!

It could be lots of things. You might also want to take him to his doctor to check for an ear infection.
