    Question bitting

    My 6 month old DS just bit me and I bleed is it stilll safe for him to feed from that breast ? This never happened with my 2 other children.

    Just went through that with my 9mo. Ouch!
    I think its okay to nurse on the bitten breast. I just waited awhile until the pain was less, then started on the other side, finishing up with the injured breast when DS wasn't sucking so vigorously. It took about 24 hours to heal completely.

    Thanks so much for the info . This is the longest I have nursed any of my 3. I am really want to continue but it hurts so much now that he is bitting any ideas to help him stop.

    Here are some good links. Mostly just be vigilant so you can pull the baby off before biting. And if he does bite, stop the feeding session. I put DS on the floor for a few moments just so he gets the picture. We had a bite free day today after 4 bad days in a row, so I think they learn pretty quickly.
