Default How many times a week is fish safe?

I was eating it once and know that is considered safe, but am thinking of upping this to salmon or mahi mahi twice a week. Is this ok?

It totally depends on the type of fish. Wild fish is pretty much mercury free, and the worst fish you can eat are the farmed variety (full of dyes and pesticides and farmed in contaminated waters). If you can, ask for wild Alaska salmon. Farmed salmon is illegal in our state, so know if fish comes from Alaska, it has been caught wild from Alaska's pristine glacier fed waters. A good white fish variety is halibut....you can eat wild fish as much as you like! It boosts brain development and wild salmon is high in heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. HTH!

I think the recommendation is twice a week (6 oz every time) and preferably wild Alaskan salmon as the PP said.

for fish that have more / less mercury (and other contaminants) - here is a good link:
