At four months I was told to start giving my BF son solids. (I'm thinking that was too soon because he started losing weight). However, he did have a tongue tie which attributed to his lack of milk (I'm guessing). He BF about twice a day and not for very long before I have to give him formula.
My question is:
If he's only breast feeding for maybe ten minutes a day total, and I don't think he's getting all that much, is it still beneficial for him when it comes to getting antibodies? He's 8 1/2 months old and I'm not sure if I should just give it up or continue for as long as he's willing.
Would appreciate any feedback.
