    Question yet another poop question

    Hello,

For the last few days my LO, who is 3.5 weeks old is only have one huge explosive bowel movement a day instead of a few reasonable sized ones. She has a few (what we call) 'wet farts' throughout the day where there is just a little streak in the diaper. She is doing a lot of fidgeting and grunting throughout the day and it looks like she may be trying to go. Is this normal?

We are currently trying to fix my oversupply/overactive let down and are dealing with thrush. So you think that any of these factors could be contributing?

    Thanks in advance.

I can't aswer your Question, but I do know what your going through! I too am have poop probs. It could be the thrush. I have read some where that the yeast can cause access gas, and maybe the extra gas is causing the large explosive poops.

OMG I can answer your question... So normal that I could've written that post! Whole story the exact same, even the over supply. It's just the gassiness and even non gassy babies will do that as well! As my supply steadied out, the bowel movements slowed way down as did the gas and grunting, but I swear I'm still asking if that adult sized fart was my son or my hubby!! lol And we're also on the " poop or wet fart" lingo! lol Btw, my first son was never a full time nurser, and still grunted a lot as well!

Hi ladies, i have a question too. My 7 weeks old is doing great. He eats well and sleeps well and he has a normal weight gain. The problem is that I have the feeling that most of the times he poops (he also has the "explosive" farts) he cries a lot. I feel like he is in pain. He cries until he passes the poop and then he is fine. Is that normal or his digestive system is just getting used to and developing. Please help!!!

Thank you very much in advance!

I know this is an old thread, but I am having the exact situation described in the PP with my LO... did anyone have any thoughts? Is this just normal newborn behavior? I was going to go to a specialist to get her checked out...
