My 10-month old has been breastfed and eats solids very well during the day. He breastfeeds 4 times during the day (3-4 hour intervals, or more if his nap is long) and once in the early morning. Essentially, he sleeps through the night, waking up to eat at 4 or 5 am. Also, I am about to return to work but would like to continue BF till at least 1 year old (without supplementing, so this means that I will have to pump at work) and then continue BF in the morning and evening when I am at home.
Lately, I noticed that my supply is a bit low in the evening. Also, when I stop pumping at work (after the child is one year old), my supply will also probably drop off. I would like to ask a few things:
1. Do I have to pump in the evening to increase supply (I tried, but only several drops come out)?
2. If I bf my child more often during the day to increase supply, will that wreck his nice schedule of having 4 meals a day? Life is so easy with these planned 4 meals...
3. When I stop pumping at work, will I have milk for him in the evening and morning, or will supply disappear after a couple of weeks?
