    Default best way to clean

My LO has a cold. We use a nipple shield to nurse but I also give bottles w/ EBM twice a day. I usually just wash them in hot water, which is what hospital said to do. Should I be using another method? And how often should I replace nipples, shields, and pacifiers?

even though the doctors have told me that i only need to wash everything in hot water, i boil everything everyday. i don't know if it actually helps, but at least it helps me feel better.

When you say "replace" for the nipples/shields/pacifiers, do you mean buy new ones?

If so, replace them when they start to look worn, have any cracks, etc. Otherwise, hot water washing should be fine, even if your baby has a cold.

I wash in hot water everyday and boil once a week or so...just for peace of mind.
