Question introduce at one meal per day or several?

Hello!. Our LO will be 6 months next week and has really been interested in what we are eating. We gave her a squished up slice of banana (about 1 table spoon) and she loved it! Should we continue this once a day or do you introduce solids at every meal? She is otherwise only on breast-milk.

There is no "rule of thumb" when it comes to introducing solids. BUT bananas are the perfect starter food. Once or twice a day you can give a little banana...just watch for signs of allergies and make sure that you do banana for a week without starting something else so you can keep track of allergies should that be an issue. (Bananas are very low on the allergen list by the way) Also, when starting foods, watch for constipation as well...I had issues with rice cereal, and bananas-but every LO is different .....Have fun...watching them eat for the first time is memorable..get it on camera!!!

I vote once a day for as LONG as you can get away with it! At some point your child will DEMAND several meals a day and you will begin the never ending always challenging search for nutritious yet not monotonous foods. Several meals a day is WORK. And keeping a LO interested in meals is work. As long as your baby is still happy with the novelty of food in and of itself, ENJOY IT! (Blink your eyes and you'll be whipping up Breakfast, lunch two snack and if your lucky she'll eat some of the same stuff as you for dinner)
