    Default drinking & breastfeeding

I would like to have an occasional glass of wine with my meal. I haven't done so because I'm afraid the alcohol will be the breast milk and harm the baby. Is it safe to have a drink? Thoughts?

It's is okay to have an occasional drink Best advice would be to have a drink right after nursing to allow for more time to pass between feedings.

I believe it is 2-3 hours that it takes for the alcohol to get out of your breastmilk. I've done it a few times myself. Another option is to pump a good amount ahead of time to leave with a sitter (or to give yourself) then pump and dump if you get too full before the time is up.

Edit: I just read that link. Great info there, sorry I duplicated!
