Unhappy GERD and refusing my breast

My son was diagnosed with GERD last week in addition to the milk protein allergy we already knew about. They also think there may be a soy protein allergy. Despite everyone else's opinions, I am determined to keep bf. Here is my newest problem. I work 3 days a week so my son receives my milk via bottle from my mother during those days. The doc told us to start putting 1 tsp of rice cereal (we are using Beech Nut b/c it doesn't have soy in it) in for every 1 oz of bm. She said that I could also do a particial bottle feeding 2-3 times a day when I am home. This is to help the milk stay in his tummy and not come up. I did that this weekend. Mon when I came home from work he didn't want to feed from the breast. I was somewhat low on milk b/c I had just pumped 2 hours earlier but there was some in there. He is a lazy nurser. He likes it to come fast and strong and doesn't want to work for it. I know the bottle feedings are only complicating that fact but I have no choice. I have decided that I have not seen enough of a difference in the milk with the cereal verses the milk without so I am not going to give him a bottle when I am at home except at his last feeding at night. Today he refused my breast for 5 hours! Do you think it is the issue of having to work harder to get it out of me than the bottle or does the change in the taste due to the rice in the bottles have something to do with it? Anyone have any advice. I have fought REALLY REALLY hard to bf as long as I have and I do not want to stop or have to go to exclusively pumping. I will exclusively pump before I put him on that nasty formula but I really want to avoid that. Any suggestions?

breastfeeding is best for your baby! There are some nice moms on the alergy formum here. Have you cut out all dariy from your diet? Even hidden dariy?
it takes 21 days to get all dairy out of your system.

I have cut ALL dairy from my diet (even hidden). I am a week into cutting all soy as well. I am on a bland diet for the most part. Meat with salt and pepper and some herbs and veggies with salt and pepper and fruit. Pretty boring but it is worth it. I just don't want him to stop nursing from ME! I can't figure out why he is refusing the breast! Just a side note...he is taking a nap that has lasted 2 1/2 hours so far!!! First time! I guess things are starting to work!
