    Default is this safe...

Not really sure where to post this, and since it is work related, i figured that here was as good as anywhere else. do to my job, i am required to have TB (Mantoux/PPD skin test) testing done yearly. i have very luckily skipped the last two years due to pregnancy and bf, now i am starting a new job where they are absolutely requiring me to have this done or i won't be able to start the job, and since it has been 2 years, i have to have the 2 step done vs. the one. is this safe for bf? will i be risking any harm to ds by receiving this test?

the breastfeeding answer book says pg 609:
"The agent in the tuberculin test has not been found in human milk.
if the mother is sensitive to the tuberculin agent in the test then it may provoke an immunme response, which will cause her body to produce antibodies to fight tuberculous. These anti-bodies will provide her baby with an immunity to tuberclousis that may last for several years."
ask your doctor if you have any ?'s about the test.
IF you don't want it may he would write a note.
