Aidan is 7 months old. He started solids at 6 months and enjoys a variety of veggies and fruits. I made the decision not to start him on cereal, but lately I feel as though I may have made a mistake.
I attend a weekly play date every Wednesday. All 10 moms have started their babies on solids--they ALL started with cereal. I asked why...their response, "because that's what all the books say to do." Fair enough. But when I tell them that Aidan has skipped cereal I feel like a friggin' leper. Everything I have read states that cereal isn't a must.
So I guess my question (after my long rant) is...is it okay that I didn't start with cereal? Should I be concerned with Aidan's iron intake? I feed him veggies and fruits that contain iron. He also eats chicken.
TIA for the advice.
