    Default Brewers Yeast?

I'm gonna make the "Lactation Boosting Cookies" that were posted in another thread but they call for Brewers Yeast. I just ran to the grocery store & didn't see it. Anyone know where to find it? Did I just not look hard enough!?

    THANKS!!!

I think they're using the term brewer's yeast for what I've always called nutritional yeast. You can get that at Whole Foods.

Nutritional yeast is definitely different than brewer's yeast.

Nutritional yeast is not active, meaning it can't make things rise and such.

Brewer's yeast is a by-product of the brewing industry.

Traditionally, brewer's yeast is brown and very bitter tasting, while nutritional yeast is yellow and pleasant tasting.

Many health food stores confuse the 2 yeasts and interchange the names.

Thanks for the clarification...I thought that was the case, but wasn't sure. Brewer's yeast is like vegemite, right?

Kinda-sorta...Vegemite is made from leftover brewer's yeast extract (and veggies and spices.)
