    Question Nursing after Novocain?

I'm new to this site, but not to nursing. Oddly enough, I've never had major dental work while nursing my other children. I had 2 large cavities filled today with (I think) 2 shots of Novocain. The dentist advised me to pump & discard for 48 hours, so I wanted to know if this is necessary. I don't mind, but I know it will be difficult for the baby (he's 8 months). Any info. will be appreciated.

I find it unreasonable that Novocaine "hangs out" in your milk that long. 48 hours my foot. Just my personal opinion.

I had dental work while nursing, and specifically told them I was nursing, and they said no problem. I also had surgery, and the most they told me to lay off was 12 hours.

I'm with the PP. 48 hours? My foot......
