    Red face A silly question

I understand that a baby should finish the first breast before starting on the other breast. How do you know that a baby finished feeding from the first one?

Baby will usually fall asleep or pull off of the breast all on her own when she's finished feeding. You can then offer the 2nd side but there's no rule on that. It's rumored that the reason we have two breasts is to support twins All of my babies only nursed on one side per feeding.

There are lots of times when DD will feed only on one breast..in fact, she has a favorite LOL. I just wait till she pulls off on her own and then go ahead and offer her the other..many times she doesn't want the second one.HTH
