But you don't have to, especially if you are doing so solely to take advantage of the putative benefits of DHA! First, 10 days is nothing. He could go 10 days without any dairy at all and it would be completely fine for his health- though it might be pretty unpleasant for him to go cold turkey from bottles and milk. Toddler diets are erratic, and what you are aiming for is not perfection every single day, but a good balanced diet if you average out his intake over time. Second, there are other ways to get DHA in your diet besides milk- and at 13 months, your baby is old enough to start trying them. For example, you could feed him a bite of fish at some lovely restaurant in France!
If he were mine, I would probably want to skip the formula. I mean, I totally understand the convenience aspect while you're traveling, but why invest the time and effort getting him used to something he won't be drinking long term? Instead, I would probably introduce whole cow's milk and other dairy products like cheese and yogurt now, and plan to use those on your trip. It would probably be a bit annoying but not too crazy to lug around a small cooler filled with milk for bottles, or some ultra-high-temp pasteurized, shelf-stable milk that doesn't even require refrigeration.
