Default Desperate for help - plugged duct for 8 days

I've tried everything and nothing has helped. I have a quarter sized lump above my nipple. I believe it is a plugged duct. Its red and somewhat painful - manageable with ibuprofen. There is no pain when I'm not pushing on it. I have what feels like a common cold, however no fever or flu like symptoms. At times I can massage it and it feels like its thinning out, but it goes right back to a lump. I cant find and milk blisters that I can pop. I do have a white patch/scab from over pumping/poor latch that has been corrected with the help of a lactation consultant. I've tried cabbage, sunflower lecithin, heat, massage, epsom soaks, olive oil soaked cotton ball on my nipple, changing nursing positions and dangled feedings.

Help! Has anyone else had this stubborn of a plug that finally left? Could it be something else?

    Thank you!

Here is what helped me with a stubborn plug. I aslo massged and dangle fed as you have, but the vibration in particular was what finally worked in my case. This one was further up my breast but it was enormous and hard to get rid of.
    Nursing very frequently
Cold compresses rather than hot, to reduce swelling
Vibration- I found a personal massager much more effective than an electric toothbrush, but you what you have on hand

Good overall article on blebs and plugs: http://www.llli.org/docs/00000000000...plugsblebs.pdf

And on mastitis just in case: http://www.llli.org/docs/00000000000...atcanyoudo.pdf
