    Question New development while supplementing

    Hi all,
My LO will be 8 months on the 27th. She has sufficient amounts of wet and soiled diapers. She eats every 2-3 hours and has started solids, which is going well. Due to her prior allergy attach (runny nose, goopy eyes and congestion) late July; getting her back to breast was difficult. My supply has dropped and I'm not able to make her bottles for daycare. I supplemented with a milk-based formula, but she broke out in a rash and had diarrhea. I switched to a soy-based one and that was fine. Now she is taking in the soy formula while at daycare and getting my milk when we are home. Last week I noticed she was vomiting more than usual and sometimes it would be all of what she ate/had to drink at daycare (soy, 4oz bottles and about 3-4 a day because she is eating solids). She had foamy poops that got everywhere, a runny nose and congestion. Feeding her was painful and I now have cracks that are bleeding. Could she be having a reaction to the soy formula now? She doesn't spit-up my milk, just the soy (my mom had to keep her one evening and since I am not making a sufficient amount of milk she had to get the soy and my mom said she threw it up sometime after she ingested it.) Any help? Comments?

    Thank yall,

Ugh, this can be difficult!! Glad you are checking in for ideas! Have you gotten help with boosting your supply? What have you tried? What are your goals for breastfeeding? How much of her milk is breastmilk and how much is formula?

Here are some ideas for boosting output when pumping: http://kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/p...ping_decrease/

About soy formula: Often babies who react to cow's milk dairy also react to soy. More here: http://kellymom.com/health/baby-heal...d-sensitivity/

When babies have upset tummies from formula supplements, many moms find increased drive to get their supply back up so that they can get off the supplements. And it's totally possible! Check back in for ideas or contact your local La Leche League Leader! You can find one in your area here: http://www.llli.org/search/groups
