    FYI...issue continues....have been on two different antibiotics...neither worked...back to doc again today...frustrated

    Wow, that sounds really awful. I had pain for a long time with my daughter, but nothing like what you're going through. I'm impressed by your persistence -- I don't think I could have stuck with it if I were in your shoes!

    Have you tried nursing on the "good" side and just pumping on the injured side to see if that gives it any better chance to heal? Or does pumping have the same effect as nursing?

    Ya, the winter season is what's really making me hold on because of the added health protection with breastfeeding...and since I have 3 other children, germs spread faster and I want my little one to have the best protection possible...but man this is getting tough. After seeing the doc, I've started trying an essential oil option called correct x and pumping on the injured side (except for night feedings). It's really painful at this point, but I want to try everything before giving up. Doc said give this a try and if it doesn't work he's going to refer me to yet another lactation consultant at another hospital. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna try and go back to feeding on only one side at each feeding (which would be against the original lactation specialist orders but at least it would maybe give more hours for that one side to heal). Ugh I just don't know
