Default HELP NEEDED: Almost No Milk on Left Breast

It seems like I have almost no milk on my left breast. This has always been my lower producer since I had a lumpectomy on that side and they had to cut through some of my ducts. My now 6 month old has started to refuse to nurse on that side now and even when I pump I'm getting significantly less milk. I want to continue nursing, but am starting solid foods this week and worry that my supply will continue to dwindle. Has anyone had this issue, and were you able to resolve it?

I have had a breast refusal many times after plugged ducts. I just offer that side while he's sleeping (during the night feeds). I also always try to give that side first even though he doesn't end up taking it - this way the opportunity is there should he forget about his strike momentarily

My Left is my low producer and no particular reason I know for it. I use some of the same methods as the PP. Real bummer too since my left rarely hurts and the right often feels abused.

Lop sided production is really common and nursing from only one breast is not that uncommon.

Same here, my left is also a bit of a lower producer when it comes to nursing, but for pumping that side yields more! He just likes nursing from the right side much more.

This link has tips for evening out lopsidedness: http://kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/lopsided/. Given the fact that you had surgery on that breast, it may not be possible to entirely do away with the lopsidedness. But you can certainly try! And if it doesn't work out, no worries. A lot of moms make it work with just one working breast.
