Default Help! Four week old with cough and cold.

    Hi there,

Will appreciate any help. My toddler had been down with the cough and cold and now my newborn seem to have caught it too. Should I see a pediatrician or LC?

It's middle of the night here and she seemed really sleepy and isn't emptying the breast. Should I pump to monitor her intake?

Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry about the kids being sick. That's rotten, especially with a newborn.

Don't pump. Just nurse as much as possible and watch your baby's diaper output. As long as she is having sufficient wet/poopy diapers, she is getting enough. This resource tells you what to expect: http://kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/supp...s/enough-milk/. But please don't hesitate to see the pediatrician if you're not seeing enough wet diapers or if the baby seems to be getting sicker or lethargic.
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
Coolest thing my little girl sang recently: "I love dat one-two pupples!"

Oooh, thanks. She's wide awake now and is feeding hungrily. Phew.
Now to get her to sleep again. Lol.
