Default painful feeding after 4 weeks

    Hi All,

I've been breastfeeding my son for 4 weeks. He's had his tongue tie snipped which helped early latch issues and he's now gaining weight well. For the last couple of days feeding has been very painful on the left side and i now have a crack in nipple. Every nursing position seems to hurt and he has a very strong suck so let down is very painful. Can anyone suggest anything? I'm going out of my mind!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the new baby and on making it through the first 4 weeks, especially with a tongue-tied baby!

Can you tell us a bit more about how nursing feels, about when you have the most pain, what the pain feels like (more stabbing, or more burning?), and what the crack looks like?
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
Coolest thing my little girl sang recently: "I love dat one-two pupples!"
