    Default Breast issues

    Hello,

I have been breast feeding for 2 1/2 years. I am down to 1 session per day at bedtime. I have flakey skin on my nipple (not the areola) and itching that comes and goes. Occasionally, I have had a burning sensation but it is not frequent and dissipates a few minutes after nursing. I started taking a probiotic supplement and the burning has pretty much stopped since. Right now I only have the flaky skin on my nipple and the occasional itching on the side of my breast or towards the inside part of the breast, not on my nipple itself. Is this a common issue or is this something I should be getting checked out? There are no obvious lumps, no redness or swelling.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Sounds like thrush. Probiotics are supposed to help but the link above recommends combining them with other medications.

That sounds very thrush-y to me, too.
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
Coolest thing my little girl sang recently: "I love dat one-two pupples!"
