    Default Does Lipase Recur?

    Hi mamas

My DS is 6 weeks old and EBF. When I was nursing DD I had excess lipase & had to scald any milk that I froze or that she didn't drink within 48 hrs of pumping. Huge pain, as many of you know

My question with my DS is should I figure that I will have excess lipase in my milk again since I did before? I had not pumped at all for DS until today. I have 1oz in the fridge to keep an eye on & see if it changes at all, but I scalded the rest b/c I want to freeze it & definitely don't want it turning gross in the freezer. I'm sure I'll be able to tell from the ounce I set aside if its lipase again... just wondering what other moms' experiences are with this...

    Thank you!

Lipase issues can come and go, so it's important to check your milk from time to time and see if there's an issue. I think you're right to be proactive.
