Re: Completely Discouraged and Totally Upset About It
When you say you're looking for a schedule, what do you mean? Can you describe the sort of schedule you think would work for a new baby?
The reason I ask is that schedules and newborns... Just don't mix. The average newborn nurses at least 10-12 times per 24 hour period, and many nurse more than that. Their feeding and sleeping is going to be erratic, and many have their days and nights mixed up (i.e. they spend most of the day sleeping, and most of the night being up and eating). As babies grow, many of them will decrease their nursing frequency, with most of those babies requiring a minimum of 8 feedings per day in order to get their needs met. And most of them will start to give mom at least one longer stretch of sleep at night- maybe 4-5 hours instead of 1-2. But it's way too early to think about these changes yet.
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
Coolest thing my little girl sang recently: "I love dat one-two pupples!"
