    Default Night nursing during period

I've started to notice that I get really sore leading up to my period, and then during my period, my son is NOT happy with how much milk he gets at night. He suckles, gets nothing, then pulls off screaming at the top of his lungs. It seems that the 2-4:30 am time is when he is wanting milk and my body is just not giving it to him. It makes for a long night with a baby who already nurse a lot at night. I give him water, which he drinks, but it doesn't satisfy him. It's enough to make me consider night weaning. He is 16 months.

Is there any thing I can do, and is this a typical response to the dropping hormones during menstruation? It just happens at night, which seems strange. He nurses at the longest, every 2 hours during the day.

it's normal for supply to drop a little during your period, though i've never heard anyone talk specifically about the wee hours like this. i wonder if it could also be teething? pain is worst at night.
