hi, everyone! I'm the proud mom to 3.5 month old twins that I am exclusively breastfeeding. I've been working on loosing my baby weight since being given the clear by my doctor, and everything has been going fine, with a slow steady weight loss, and no problems with my supply dipping. In fact, I actually was struggling with an over supply a few weeks ago! for the last two weeks my weight loss has nccreased significantly. last week I lost 3.5 pounds, no problem with supply... this week I lost 2.5 pounds and for the last few days I've been thinking my supply is dipping. my girls have gone from nursing for maybe 15 minutes 7 to 8 times per day to about 45 minutes per feeding, 7 to 8 times per day. I also have had to begin pumping to build a small stash as we had a freezer disaster and my supply defrosted without me knowing (a very painful discovery!). I went from pumping anywhere from 6 to 10 ounces a few weeks ago ( the last time I pumped) to now only getting 2 to 4 ounces a session.
my main question is will my supply go back up by increasing my caloric intake alone, or should I be doing something more? supplements? more pumping? I cant figure out what changed diet wise, but obviously something did since my weight loss increased so much. time to bust out the goodies lol!
thank you for any input. I'm dedicated to nursing these girls exclusively and want to remedy this problem as soon as possible!!!
