    Default Severe Pain

I am having severe pain in my left breast. My LO is 14 weeks and is EBF. It started about 3 hours ago and came on slowly. I am now in a lot of pain and unsure what to do. The bottom of my breast feels swollen. I have nursed and pumped the breast, used warm compresses, and iced it. I do not have a fever or see any red on the breast. I can't feel any clogged ducts but my breast is so sore that it is hard to push on it to really tell. What can/should I do?

This sounds like it is probably a bad plugged duct. Continue what you're doing, and check out this link: http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mother/mastitis/. It covers treatment options and symptoms of mastitis, which you should be alert for at this point.

Also take a look at this link: http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mother/nipplebleb/. Sometimes blebs are the root cause of a plug that won't release.
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
Coolest thing my little girl sang recently: "I love dat one-two pupples!"
