Hi, mamas, looking for some advice here. I'll be returning to work full time in about 3 weeks. My LO is 13.5 months and nurses 4x/day: for AM nap, PM nap, at bedtime, then somewhere between 4-6 am. I won't be able to nurse for his naps once at work, and I'm not planning on pumping.
I have several questions: Should I start nap-weaning him now so that he gets used to it and my breasts adapt to the changes? If I only nurse at bedtime and then once overnight will I maintain a supply? Do I have to worry about engorgement/plugged ducts if I abruptly stop the nap nursings? I've never really leaked (only the first month or so right before/during nursing). Would I have to worry about leaking if not nursing during the day?
He eats 3 meals a day, and his 2 "snacks" are bf for naps--what kinds of snacks will replace this nutritionally? I do have a decent sized freezer stash, so he will be able to have bm available when I'm gone for probably about a month. He drinks cow's milk fine, though would prefer bm (he chugs the bm in a cup while is slightly less enthusiastic about cm).
Thanks for any advice!
