Default 5 Week old not eating much at night

My baby is 5 weeks old and eats every 1-3 hours during the day, he has a lot of diaper changes and is very alert and happy when he's awake plus his fontanelle isn't sunken so I'm not worried about dehydration.

So here is what usually happens:

10pm to 6am - feeds 2/3 times in that period very minimally (he has one bottle of breast milk at night)

    6am to 9.30am - feeds every 30mins to 1hr

    9.30am to 10pm - feeds every 1-3 hours

He used to feed every 2-3hrs and the bottle at night would contain 4oz now he's only taking 2oz.

Is this normal to only be "snacking" at night?

is baby nursing about 10 times a 24 hour day total (or more?)

    is weight gain ok?

Baby nursing frequently overall, and baby gaining approximately 6 or more ounces a week are good indicators all is well. Each nursing session will typically vary in length.

    Does that help?

oh and are you pumping when baby has the bottle? 2-3 ounces is normal sized intake. that is a meal, not a snack. 4 ounces is a rather big meal.
