Hi, I wrote a couple weeks ago about drop in supply and got some good suggestions' from Mommal, I believe. I am pumping and nursing but also have to formula feed some. My supply did rebound and I get about 20 oz/ day pumping. For the last couple weeks, I've only been able to nurse once, on average as my daughter only nurses well first thing in the morning. She is wide awake, so I don't know if you would call it a dream feed.
When I offer at other times of day, her behavior is odd, but I don't know what she is trying to communicate. She tends to arch away and if I continue to offer, she has even become distressed, even though she is clearly hungry. She avoids eye contact but will smile and look at me if I say her name or sing or something. Today the phone rang while this exchange was happening and it was like it interrupted her resistance and she latched for a minute, then remembered? And got off. She wouldn't look at me then but was actually making sucking movements with her mouth.
This may be coincidence but she has been teething and I wonder if a bottle is more comfortable than bf? This may not explain the good am feed, though. I know she is communicating, just not sure what!
