So... I can't believe I made it this far!!! I had a lot of issues at the beginning and I am so glad I discovered this forum and that we had a Dr. over here who happened to be a LLLI leader and BFing specialist!!! Otherwise, I would have quit with all the bad advise I had from friends and family.
My DD will turn one in a week and I am ready to wean. So I started reading but I would like some tips from other experienced moms out there!
First, is it ok if I start offering cow's milk now?
She eats solids pretty good, she likes to try everything we eat!
I still pump at work 3 times a day, how do I start pump weaning? And that will mean that she'll have to eat more solids to compensate that missing bottle right? Or is it cow's milk+solids?
Also, she still wakes up 2-3 times a night to nurse... I've been told by our ped that she doesn't need those night feedings (nutritionally) and (wait for it...) let her CYO (never did of course. Bad, bad advise). Is that true? (The nutrition advise)
I know night feeding should be the last thing to go, but we depend on nursing for bed time and nap time... And that worries me. Nap time for now since night time will be ok for a while... Any tricks or advise to put a baby to sleep without nursing?
