Oy, I agree with the PP! Don't EP, even part time, if there's any way to avoid it! I know the struggle you and your baby are having right now stinks, but fast forward to the future and consider how you're going to EP when your baby is more mobile and demanding and you need to choose between caring for him and maintaining your pumping schedule. Not to mention the trial of pumping in public- if you think nursing in public is difficult, imagine having to hook yourself up to a pump in public. Imagine asking the server at a restaurant or a store clerk if there's a clean, private space with an outlet that you can use, and having to explain exactly why you need it...
Have you tried reclined nursing positions? How about side-lying nursing? Sometimes when babies have less trouble at night, it's all about the position they're nursing in.
