This was the first weekend that I didn't "offer" breast proactively and waited for my 1 year old son to ask. He nursed about 3-5 times/day over the weekend. He loves solids and will have a snack as well. I don't feel confused about how much milk he needs while I'm home but I work 5 days a week and am gone 10 hours a day.
I would rather not introduce cow's milk. I have a decent supply of frozen breast milk. I am going to stop pumping after this week.
How much milk should I be leaving for the baby while I'm away at work? When I'm through with the frozen supply, what should he be getting instead? He sleeps through the night so our nursing during the work week is around 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM. I could offer another time around 8 before I leave for work but I have been waiting for him to ask. I have been thinking about leaving goat milk but the amounts I'm seeing online seem so absurd (16-24 ounces).
Thanks for your advice!
