    Default Poop

How many times should a BF baby poop? It's been 3 days since my LO has pooped. Is this normal? He is going on 6 weeks old.

    Default Re: Poop

At this age (6 weeks and up) it is normal for an exclusively breastfed baby to go several days-even a week or more-between poops. It's not something to worry about unless baby was not gaining well prior to this. If you are concerned, watch wet diapers now to make sure baby is getting enough milk. For babies where there is weight gain concern, more frequent weight checks may be helpful.

It's not constipation, which rarely if ever occurs in exclusively breastfed babies.
