Default 19 day old umbilical cord?

This is my second child and I don't seem to remember the stump staying attached for so long.....

I only have experience with one baby, but my son's stump didn't fall off (with some prodding) until he was 21 days old. The pediatrician looked at it at 2 weeks and said it was just fairly deep and wasn't drying out quickly.

My daughter's stump stayed on forever. I think it fell off after 3 weeks. We joked that she was like one of her grandma's and liked hanging on to old junk. My son's fell off within a week but was then all oozy and unhealed for another 1.5 weeks. I wouldn't worry yet!

It'll fall off when it's ready. No need to worry.

You can still bath him. The whole "don't get it wet" thing doesn't really stand. Baby doesn't soak in the tub at this age. Just wash him off, pat to dry.

I would still give him a bath. As long as it's looking normal it'll be fine. It'll be off before you know it!
