    Default Timing of pumping

I am currently pumping once a day, so that my husband can give one bottle a day to our daughter (6 weeks old) - usually the 11pm "dream feed". As of now, I pump while he is giving the bottle. I am wondering if it would be ok to pump after I feed DD at bedtime (9PM), so that I don't have to wake up to pump while my husband gives the bottle.
Or is it imperative that I pump more or less precisely when DD eats?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

    Default Re: Timing of pumping

At 6 weeks, if nursing is otherwise going really well, and you're not having any trouble filling that one evening bottle, I see no reason why you shouldn't pump right after you nurse at 9:00. Just be a little cautious. If skipping at 11 pm nursing or pumping session results in you going >6 hours without removing any milk from the breast, there's a good chance your fertility will return. And if you suddenly feel like you're struggling, then IMO it makes sense to go back to what you were doing before.
