    Default Breast strike

My 18 week old has decided in the last 2 days that she doesnt want to eat during the day. I know she's hungry, I can hear her poor tummy rumble. I don't know what to do. She doesnt take bottles and now she wont eat off the breast. Why would she suddenly do this?

Oh, mama. I know how anxious you are worrying about your baby not eating. We went through something similar about 2 months ago and it was such a stressful couple of days for me. There are any number of reasons why this might be happening, but be assured that she isn't weaning and she isn't angry with you.

Will she nurse during naps and at night? This was our saving grace when our LO went on a nursing strike--he would still eat when he slept so we just cuddled up for lots of naps and nighttime nursing.

Kellymom has a great article on helping to get baby back on the breast: http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/child/back-to-breast/

Be sure that you are pumping while she is striking to keep up your supply.

    Hopefully this will pass soon.
